The Old National Road, America’s first highway, now Rt. 40, passes through the heart of Vandalia, some 10 miles north of Dayton. Vandalia is the site of the Dayton International Airport and the United States Air & Trade Show. Apartments, condominiums and newer single family dwellings, may all be found here. Older homes are found mainly in the heart of Vandalia. Served by the Vandalia-Butler school system.
